It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Children are such a delight at Christmas time! I wasn’t feeling much in the spirit of it all until last Monday night when, with the children’s encouragement, we pulled the tree from the attic and the what feels like 101 totes of Christmas decor. As we began setting up the tree to jolly Christmas tunes, things started to turn around and before the night was through, we were feeling nothing but festive and the spirit of the season really began to burn. Throughout the week, we have added lights here, garland there, and the children even set up the village I have been adding to throughout the years. So now, as we look around our house and go throughout the day, those feelings that make this season special are all around us. We are looking forward to adding to our decorations a little at a time with some other great ideas I’ve been gathering, aren’t these great?!

If you have children like I do, an advent calendar is a MUST. This one from the Girl Creative is my favorite:

I think the children will love helping me create a darling Christmas tree forest like this one

And there is something about these trees that I just must have in my house found at My Home My Style

Then there’s my favorite.Nothing says winter like these darling snowmen at Dapper Toad:

{I’m shamelessly thinking to cheat a bit and make their bodies out of pom-poms…SO adorable!}
And what better idea than to make a snow fall window with these darling snow strings made from cotton balls a friend found on flicker.com:

and look what they’re offering at the Cottage Coastal Store

Adorable!
and if you need a few more decorations for your tree, these bulbs are an inexpensive, natural way to add some charm at Too Much Time on My Hands (love that blog!):

So, we are going to be enjoying ourselves this week creating more to our festive mood. I’d say, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….
