Pretty little Stand

Hello everybody! I actually finished a project that I’m super excited to share today!!!
After hunting long and hard, after saving for many months, for a couch both old or new, I found one on Craigs List. (I have come to have a great relationship with Craigslist after my experiences both buying and selling from and through such a wonderful resource!)  Long story short, while picking up our beautiful “new to us” couch, I was walking through the owner’s garage, who was in the process of moving, and found this sitting in it.

I asked her if she was getting rid of it, and what do ya know! I became the proud owner of a plant stand that I had coincidentally been keeping my eye open for through the last couple years!

 Who knew it’d show up while I was looking for something else! Huh? Anyway. I took her home and she sat in my mud room for. a. LONG time. (Three months to be exact.) It felt long, tripping around it and such. So this week I got the opportunity to give her a much needed paint job.

 I started out with this lightest of light green white colors. Something I already had on hand. Not enough. Needed character. That’s when I painted the tip of the table top with candy apple green. A personal favorite of mine.  {I love that happy color!}

After which I knew I wanted to top it with stain, but not before I added a little more character. I found these great stencils at Wal-mart (of all places) for a little over 3 bucks. I picked a quick favorite and went to town with a mustard yellow.

 After that dried, I sanded and topped with a coat of walnut minwax stain.

I’m so happy with the results, I just get excited every time I walk past it!

I did decide it needed a bit of jewelry, however, so I added this pretty drawer pull my Mother gave me from her garage treasures.

I love it when  a project works out the way you envisioned it!

Stay tuned for the reveal of the rest of the projects I’ve been doing around here. After all, there are a few.
I’m so happy to be back!
