Natural Fall Centerpiece- {Dose of DIY Blog Hop}

Happy Wednesday friends, and welcome to a Dose of DIY! This is where I, along with some of my good blogging buddies, come up with something that will hopefully inspire you!

So let’s get to it, shall we?!

I had a board that was wider then the rest during one of my fencing projects. I knew I wanted to use it for something special. This Dose of DIY challenge to come up with a fall centerpiece was the perfect excuse. I’ve always wanted to make a centerpiece tray so that it would be easy to add or remove for practical purposes.

So I cut this beauty in half (This is the second half. You will have to come back to see what I’m doing with it. *wink*) and attached these drawer handles I found on clearance at our local hardware store a good while back.

Next, I found these candle holders at the thrift store. The big chunky one was from a second hand place, but unfortunately I forgot to get a before pic of it (darn it!).

I painted them Country Chic Paint’s Lazy Linen (the perfect white grey color!) thinking they would go down into the family room I’m re-doing.

More to come on that…can’t wait to share the whole re-do with you!!

They’ve never made it down there yet though, cause I love how they look in our dining room since I’ve repainted in there…wow, there’s a lot I haven’t shared yet! Don’t worry, I have plans to share them all 😉

I put them on the tray with a few acorns my children have collected for me through the years. The leaves look fake, but they are real. Can you believe it? I went outside to pick some tomatoes for lunch (Yes, we are still getting tomatoes. We’re spoiled.) and found them on the ground. I couldn’t believe how perfect they looked,
so I had to pick them up.

I love mixing candle/holder styles. I like how each candle holder turned out.

The candles were in various places around the house. They needed a refresh.

This is my favorite scent for fall. It’s called hazelnut.

Just when I thought I didn’t have a candle big enough for this chunky one, I noticed it on the shelf in the boys bathroom, all forgotten and never having had a candle holder to sit on.

It’s huge.

Just perfecet!

The “table cloth” is actually a piece of fabric I found at the thrift shop.

I know, WHAT?!

Originally I was going to make it into a throw, but it’s polyester and the perfect colors for our fall table, don’t you think?

We had dinner with random white dishes and my transferware teacups and saucers that I’ve been collecting over time. The children love drinking out of them.

Michele this is beautiful. I have a tray I made from old wood and added some rustic handles, it's my favorite centerpiece base. Love what you did here.
